Please be patient during our website construction process! We should be done soon. Much thanks!
HealthFriends is a community partnership founded by the Mohawk Valley Network, St. Francis de Sales Parish in Utica and Catholic Charities of Herkimer County in Ilion. Our mission is to improve the health of the area’s “under-served.”
HealthFriends provides immediate and long-term prescription medication for people without prescription insurance and without the means to purchase medication needed to achieve and maintain good health. It also assists seniors in EPIC enrollment.
Both offices continually make referrals and connections for individuals whose needs are beyond our ability to help.
HealthFriends, comprised of two staff persons and 15 volunteers, is supported by donations and grants from individuals, religious organizations, businesses, and charitable foundations. We also conduct several fund-raisers annually.
Each year, we respond to nearly 2,000 calls for assistance and provide $500,000 worth of medication for the under-served in both Oneida and Herkimer Counties.
As an interfaith and community based partnership, it is our aim to transcend cultural and religious beliefs in assisting people who “fall through the cracks of society’s safety net.”
